07 Mar 10 Hiring A Private Party Band

You are at one friend's party. The music is music that you have heard plenty of times before. It is going up the charts, and every pop and alternative station is playing it nonstop. Some people are dancing, but a lot of people are still sitting staring off into space or are talking quietly. Those who are dancing are being a bit awkward, as the music isn't exactly dance music. No one is all that into it, as they have heard it all before. It is the usual music: it is no private party band.

Flash to another scenario: you are dancing, smiling, and feel full of energy. The music behind you is vibrant, loud, and real. Real voices are coming out of microphones instead of synthesized beats, and real instruments are playing only about twenty feet away. You are enjoying the rhythm and sound of a live band, in an intimate setting.

Live bands are great for several functions, including parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings, and office events. Because they exude so much energy, they can give guests energy as well. Bands often love playing music, and love the music that they play. Because of this they can give a much more fun atmosphere to an event.

While lots of people like pop songs, sometimes they just get old. When you go to a bunch of parties and every single one plays the same songs, it may get irritating. However, with a band you can never have the same exact experience at different parties. Even if they play the same exact songs that a DJ would have played, they give it their own special touch. Thus even if you hear the same exact song at two different parties, if one party features a band the song will not REALLY be the same.

Live bands may either be original or they may play other people's music. Some do both. But when it is your wedding or party you can choose exactly what type of music you want - be it pop or swing. If you have a band rather than a DJ, you can have more control over the type of music played at your party. For instance, if you hire a swing band for dancing, no one will be able to request that new pop dance hit.

Because these bands feature live people, they can interact with guests in a good way. DJs tend to keep the ball rolling, while live bands are out there with the people. They may have some audience participation.

It is also good to choose a band because it is a group rather than one person that you are supporting. Some bands have a dream of gaining popularity all over the world, and by hiring them you can fuel that dream.

Thus, live bands are a great choice for private functions. They are not appropriate for every occasion, as they may be somewhat costly. But if you want energy, uniqueness, interaction, and vibrancy, you may want to consider hiring a band for your next function. They may offer a freshness to a boring and stiff function that cannot be found many other places.
